Session Description: At the start of this year, a man intentionally drove his truck into a crowd of pedestrians on Bourbon Street, resulting in multiple deaths and injuries. The man exchanged fire with officers before being shot and killed. The subsequent police investigation placed the Nation’s interest on the New Orleans Police Department and how they collaborated and addressed the investigation. Leading the New Orleans Police Department was Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick and her command staff. This debrief will discuss the chaotic events, investigation, media relations, and collaboration with the FBI.
