Session Description: The acronym “ICRELIEF” is used as a conceptual framework to present various leadership concepts germane to a professional position within an organization. These concepts can be applied to both an individual’s personal and professional life. How an individual reacts to choices, change, commitment, creativity, control, confidence, responsibility, enthusiasm, leadership, investment, expectant attitude and humor, largely determines whether they have what it takes to “Lead by Example.”

Session Description: The international hunt for Pablo Escobar placed now retired DEA Special Agents Steve Murphy and Javier Pena at the center of the largest, most complex, multi-national, high profile investigation of its time. The operation required that Special Agents Murphy and Pena work in country and closely with an elite Columbian Task Force to end Escobar’s brutal reign as head of the Medellin Cartel. Because of their efforts during the investigation, Escobar placed a $300,000 bounty for the death of each investigator. This presentation will highlight the teamwork, leadership, and operational challenges that they faced while seeing this dangerous and complex operation through to a successful conclusion. Their efforts formed the basis for the Netflix series Narcos.
